Match Report: Dunfanaghy Youths U12 Girls vs Keadue Rovers

Venue: Keadue |

Dunfanaghy Youths U12 Girls made it three wins on the trot with a fantastic performance away to Keadue Rovers on Tuesday evening. The sun was shining and both teams rose to the occasion, delivering a thrilling match full of energy, skill, and determination.

The breakthrough came in the 29th minute when Clara Ward Duffy unleashed a screamer of a volley, rifling the ball into the back of the net and giving the Keadue goalkeeper no chance. It was a moment of pure class from the midfielder, who now sits as the current League top scorer with nine goals in six matches — a remarkable achievement.

Dunfanaghy kept up the pressure, and in the 36th minute, Fiadh McGinley doubled the lead with a composed finish after some slick team play. The girls pushed hard for a third, with Sophie Barber and Clara Ward Duffy all coming close to adding to the scoreline.

At the other end, the Dunfanaghy defence stood strong, with Aisling Alcorn, Robyn Collett, and Riona Gallagher putting in a solid shift at the back. Goalkeeper Cara Sweeney was in fine form, making several excellent saves to keep a clean sheet and deny Keadue any way back into the game.

Credit must go to Keadue Rovers, who played with great heart and made it a competitive and exciting match from start to finish. Well done to all the girls involved — a brilliant evening of football and another impressive win for Dunfanaghy Youths!
