Dunfanaghy Youths FC welcomed Drumkeen Utd to Callum Friel Park today (Sunday 20th September).

Dunfanaghy were looking to get off to winning ways against an experienced Drumkeen side who will be pushing hard for promotion this season.

The home team were a bit slow to start but grew into the game and looked to take control. They were the team to make the most chances in an enjoyable first half with Luke McCarry coming closest only being denied by a good save from the visiting keeper. Half-time score 0-0

 

 

Dunfanaghy were to start the second half in determined fashion to get the lead they thoroughly deserved. Chances came and went as the home team pushed for a winner and they were to get it in the 84th minute when Jake Laughlin slotted home after some great work from Barry McGinley on the left wing to provide the assist. That was to be the deciding goal in a very well contested match between both teams.
