*U12 Dunfanaghy Youths 1 - 1 Lagan Harps*

Dunfanaghy welcomed the league leaders, Lagan Harps, to Callum Friel Park on Thursday evening.

Dunfanaghy pinned Lagan back from the start. This pressure paid off when a brilliant ball by the Dunfanaghy Captain, Oisin Sweeney, was controlled by Matthew McFadden. He spotted the keeper of his line and lobbed him with an exquisite chip into the top corner to give Dunfanaghy the perfect start.

Dunfanaghy continued to press. The Lagan keeper made a great save shortly after from Cian Langan. Anthony Wilkinson went close with a header that just went the wrong side of the post. Oliver McFadden was inches away from converting a cross at the back post. Dunfanaghy were made to pay before the break when a quick counter by Lagan was well finished. 1-1 at half time, despite Dunfanaghy dominating.

The second half was more even. Neither side created any clear-cut chances. 1-1 is how it finished with Dunfanaghy a bit disappointed to not make their first half domination pay. It's still a good result to be the first team to take points of Lagan in the league.

Dunfanaghy were led brilliantly by their captain Oisin Sweeney. Rory Boyce was very secure in goals. Special mention to Odhran Sweeney, Dylan Robinson, Liam McFadden, and Alfie Roarty for their displays.

The panel was: Rory Boyce, Seve Roarty, Oisin Sweeney (Captain), Odhran Sweeney, Oliver McFadden, Oisin Nelis, Anthony Wilkinson, Matthew McFadden, Cian Langan, Liam McFadden, Dylan Robinson, and Alfie Roarty.

Dunfanaghy next match is at Home to Mulroy. Date to be confirmed.
